McDonald’s MyMacca’s App Introduces New Digital Rewards with Expedia
This update allows members to exchange their points for discounts on travel bookings made through Expedia, making the program more versatile than just food-related rewards.
Under the new scheme, every dollar spent at McDonald’s earns 100 MyMacca’s Rewards points. These points can now be used for Expedia vouchers, giving members a chance to stretch their dollars beyond the restaurant.
Expedia Reward Options
Two Expedia offers are currently available in the app:
- 7,500 Points → 5% off Expedia bookings
- 10,000 Points → 9% off Expedia bookings
These rewards give you the flexibility to use your everyday McDonald’s purchases towards future travel savings. It means that spending $75 in-store (7,500 points) unlocks the 5% Expedia voucher, while spending $100 (10,000 points) earns the 9% Expedia voucher.
How to Redeem
To access the Expedia discounts, members need to:
- Open the MyMacca’s app.
- Go to the Rewards & Deals section.
- Select the Expedia voucher option and redeem using the required points.
- Receive a code to apply when booking on Expedia.
This marks a shift for McDonald’s loyalty program, making it more competitive with other cross-industry rewards schemes by adding travel perks to its food and beverage discounts. For frequent McDonald’s customers, it’s a chance to turn meal purchases into travel savings.
