KFC Australia is expanding its breakfast menu beyond Sydney Airport, with the morning range rolling out to 29 additional restaurants from Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The expansion covers 16 participating KFC restaurants on the Gold Coast and 13 restaurants across Melbourne CBD, with breakfast service beginning from 6am. It follows a trial at Sydney Airport earlier this year and represents the first multi-store expansion of KFC’s new Australian breakfast range.

KFC Breakfast Is Now Expanding Beyond Sydney Airport
KFC quietly began testing its new breakfast menu at Sydney Airport in January, combining traditional breakfast staples with several items built around its Original Crispy chicken.
Following what KFC describes as a successful airport trial, the company is now taking the menu to selected restaurants in Queensland and Victoria from September 8. Breakfast will be available from 6am at the participating locations.
KFC Australia Chief Marketing Officer Vanessa Rowed said the expansion follows the response to the Sydney Airport trial and is intended to give customers another time of day to visit the chain.
What’s on the New KFC Breakfast Menu?
The expanded menu includes both familiar Australian breakfast options and several chicken-heavy items that are more recognisably KFC.
One of the simpler choices is the Bacon & Egg Roll, combining bacon, egg and tomato relish inside a toasted Turkish bun. There is also a BLAT, made with bacon, sliced tomato, avocado, lettuce and tomato relish.
If you want the KFC version of breakfast, the range becomes considerably more substantial.
The Chicken Bacon & Egg Roll adds an Original Crispy chicken fillet to the bacon, egg and tomato relish combination, while the Chicken Toastie combines Original Crispy chicken, cheese and Pepper Mayo on a toasted Turkish bun.
There is also an Ultimate Brekkie Wrap, featuring Original Crispy chicken, bacon, egg, cheese, mayo and tomato relish inside a toasted tortilla.
The biggest option is the Brekkie Tower, which stacks an Original Crispy chicken fillet with bacon, egg, cheese, tomato relish and a hash brown inside a KFC bun. Hash browns are also available separately.
For a meat-free breakfast option, KFC is also offering Avo Toast, featuring avocado seasoned with lemon and pepper.
KFC Is Serving Coffee, Tea and Hot Chocolate Too
KFC’s breakfast expansion also includes a dedicated range of hot drinks rather than simply pairing breakfast items with its usual soft drinks.
Coffee choices include cappuccino, latte, flat white, mocha, long black and espresso, all made to order.
If you do not drink coffee, black tea and hot chocolate are also part of the new morning menu.
The addition makes KFC more directly competitive with the established breakfast offerings at chains such as McDonald’s and Hungry Jack’s, although how aggressively KFC expands breakfast beyond the current 29-store rollout remains to be seen.
What Will KFC Breakfast Cost?
KFC has not published confirmed pricing for the new Gold Coast and Melbourne breakfast rollout in its latest announcement.
During the earlier Sydney Airport trial, Frugal Feeds recorded an Avo Toast at $4.95, Bacon & Egg Roll at $6.95, BLAT at $7.95, and chicken Toasties from $8.95. The larger chicken breakfast options reached $10.95 for a Brekkie Tower, with combo prices higher.
If you’re on the Gold Coast or in Melbourne CBD, the safest option is to check your selected restaurant through KFC’s ordering channels once breakfast service is active to see the current menu, prices and availability.
For now, the confirmed news is that KFC Breakfast expands to 29 more Australian restaurants from September 8, with service beginning from 6am at 16 Gold Coast locations and 13 Melbourne CBD locations.
