KFC Australia Expands Kwench Drinks Range with Fairy Bread Shakes, Boba Refreshers and Frozen Spiders

The growing menu features 13 specialty drinks, ranging from creamy shakes topped with biscuit crumbs to sparkling lemonades, popping boba drinks and frozen soft drinks with ice cream.
KFC first introduced KWENCH in Australia through a Wollongong trial in March 2025. The range has since expanded to additional restaurants, with new flavours now appearing on the chain’s national online menu.
The launch is also attracting attention from customers who remember KFC’s discontinued Krushers, although KWENCH is a separate drinks range rather than a return of the original product.

New Krunch Shakes Include Fairy Bread and Strawberry
The Krunch Shake range includes four flavours:
- Fairy Bread Krunch Shake: Vanilla shake layered with strawberry purée, whipped cream and colourful sprinkles.
- Chocolate Krunch Shake: Creamy chocolate shake with dark chocolate sauce and crunchy chocolate biscuit crumbs.
- Caramel Krunch Shake: Caramel-flavoured shake topped with caramel sauce and Biscoff biscuit crumbs.
- Strawberry Krunch Shake: Strawberry shake finished with strawberry purée and Biscoff crumbs.
The Fairy Bread flavour is a particularly Aussie addition, drawing inspiration from the familiar party treat with its vanilla, strawberry and sprinkle combination.
Krunch Shakes have been listed for $5.95 at selected restaurants, although prices vary between locations and ordering platforms.
Boba Refreshers, Lemonades and Frozen Spiders
If you’d prefer something lighter than a shake, KWENCH also includes fruit-based drinks.
The Watermelon Boba Refresher combines lemonade, watermelon syrup and green tea with popping boba pearls.
The Lychee Boba Refresher features lychee and osmanthus flavours alongside green tea and popping boba.
There are also two sparkling lemonades: Raspberry Lemonade with raspberry purée and freeze-dried raspberries, and Peach Pop Lemonade with peach flavour.
For something different, KFC has introduced Frozen Spiders in Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Raspberry varieties, combining frozen soft drinks with ice cream.
The range also includes Raspberry and Peach SOLO ENERGY drinks.
KFC Offers a $7.95 Kwench Snack Deal
KFC has added a $7.95 KWENCH by KFC Snack option to its Australian menu, advertised as available until 4pm.
The snack deal appears alongside the new drinks and KFC’s Go Bucket range, providing another way to purchase items from the expanded menu.
Individual KWENCH drinks are also available, with some restaurant listings showing Krunch Shakes and Boba Refreshers from $5.95, Sparkling Lemonades from $4.95 and Frozen Spiders from $4.
You’ll need to select your preferred restaurant in the KFC app or website to see its current range and prices.
Are KFC Krushers Finally Back?
For many Australian customers, the new Krunch Shakes will bring back memories of KFC’s popular Krushers, which disappeared from menus around 2018–2019.
The original range included flavours such as Golden Gaytime and Kookies ‘n’ Kream, combining thick frozen drinks with crunchy mix-ins.
KWENCH follows a similar dessert-drink concept, but the new shakes use different recipes and toppings.
The range has already prompted mixed reactions, with some customers welcoming the return of thick shakes while others say they miss the original Krushers.
KFC has not announced the return of the original Krushers range.
Where Can You Get KFC Kwench in Australia?
KWENCH is appearing at more Australian KFC restaurants following its original trial in the Illawarra region.
The new drinks are listed on KFC’s official Australian menu, although the company notes that they are not available everywhere yet.
If you’re keen to try the Fairy Bread Shake or one of the new Boba Refreshers, check the KWENCH section in the KFC app after selecting your local restaurant.
The expanded menu gives KFC a wider selection of drinks beyond its traditional soft drinks and frozen beverages, with options aimed at customers looking for a sweet treat as well as a meal.
