Starbucks Free “Magic” Giveaway for International Coffee Day

The Magic is a Melbourne-born coffee style that has become a cult favourite among coffee drinkers. It’s made with double ristretto shots — in this case, Starbucks’ blonde ristretto — topped with just the right amount of steamed milk. The result is a smaller, stronger, and smoother coffee than a flat white, offering a bold flavour without overwhelming bitterness.

Starbucks has been highlighting the Magic as a way to showcase its espresso range while tapping into Australian coffee culture.

International Coffee Day Promotion

To celebrate International Coffee Day on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, Starbucks Australia is giving away 100 free Magic coffees at every store across the country. The offer applies to both in-store and drive-thru customers.

The promotion is limited to the first 100 people at each location, making it a first-come, first-served giveaway. Customers can also choose their preferred milk option, whether dairy or plant-based, as part of the free drink.

Conditions and Restrictions

The free Magic offer is valid only on 1 October 2025, and only while the allocation lasts at each store. Once the 100 drinks per location are claimed, the offer ends — there are no rainchecks. It is also not available through delivery services or mobile ordering, reinforcing the in-store and drive-thru exclusivity.

Each customer is limited to one free Magic per person. Starbucks has confirmed that the deal will be honoured at all Australian stores nationwide.
