Taco Bell Australia is teaming up with Duolingo for Global Taco Day on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, launching a new limited-edition Duo Habanero Sauce and giving it away with Crunchy Taco purchases at participating restaurants.

From October 6, customers who buy a Crunchy Taco at participating Taco Bell restaurants across Australia can receive the new Duo Habanero Sauce free while stocks last. Taco Bell Australia is also giving away 50 limited-edition Taco Bell x Duolingo Duo plushies through a separate Instagram competition.

Get Free Duo Habanero Sauce With a Crunchy Taco on October 6

The Australian promotion begins on Tuesday, October 6, with free Duo Habanero Sauce available when you purchase any Crunchy Taco at a participating Taco Bell restaurant. The sauce is being offered while supplies last, so there is no guaranteed availability through to the end of the day.

Taco Bell describes Duo Habanero as a new sauce made specifically for its collaboration with Duolingo. It has a bright, tangy flavour with fruity notes and habanero heat, with the spice designed to build as you eat it.

The standard Australian Crunchy Taco uses a crunchy shell with seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese and lettuce, with black beans also listed as a meat-free filling option.

The New Sauce Pots Include Duolingo Language Messages

Taco Bell Duolingo

The Duo Habanero Sauce is part of Taco Bell and Duolingo’s first international Global Taco Day campaign, which will also run in the United States, Canada, China, India, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Globally, Taco Bell has created sauce packaging featuring taco-related phrases in multiple languages. The wider campaign uses nine languages, including English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Portuguese, German, Korean, Mandarin and Japanese.

Australia gets its own version. Taco Bell says the Australian Duo Habanero sauce pots feature messages in English, French, Spanish and Japanese, chosen because they are among the languages Australians commonly study through Duolingo.

The sauce itself is a limited-time product rather than a permanent addition to Taco Bell’s Australian menu. No final Australian end date has been announced beyond the statement that availability is while stocks last, so you should not assume it will remain available after Global Taco Day.

Taco Bell Australia Is Also Giving Away 50 Duo Plushies

There is a second Australian promotion running alongside the sauce launch.

Taco Bell Australia is giving customers the chance to win one of 50 limited-edition Taco Bell x Duo plushies through Instagram. The plushies feature Duolingo’s green Duo mascot dressed in Taco Bell-themed gear.

The published Australian entry instructions say you need to:

  • Like the Global Taco Day giveaway post
  • Follow Taco Bell Australia on Instagram
  • Comment on the giveaway post

Globally, Taco Bell and Duolingo are distributing 1,000 co-branded Duo plushies across participating markets, with Australia’s 50-plushie allocation forming part of that wider campaign.

Global Taco Day Is Tuesday, October 6

For Australian Taco Bell customers, the useful part of the promotion is straightforward.

The sauce is new, limited edition and combines tangy and fruity flavours with habanero heat. Australian pots also feature Duolingo-themed messages in English, French, Spanish and Japanese.
