McDonald’s Australia Increases MyMacca’s Points Required to Redeem Rewards Again from May 2026
McDonald’s Australia has once again increased the number of points needed to redeem rewards through the MyMacca’s app, with the latest changes rolling out in May 2026.
This marks the second major rewards adjustment in under two years after the January 2025 update, where most rewards increased by around 500 points. The latest changes are even steeper in some categories, with several popular menu items now requiring thousands of extra points compared to previous redemption levels.

What’s Changed in the MyMacca’s Rewards Program?
Based on the updated MyMacca’s rewards screen, almost every reward tier has increased again, while some older rewards appear to have been removed or reshuffled.
You still earn 100 points per dollar spent on eligible purchases through the MyMacca’s app or by scanning your code, however it will now take noticeably longer to unlock many popular rewards.

Redeem for 3,500 Points

- Small McCafé Beverage (Hot or Iced)
Redeem for 6,000 Points
- Large Fries
- McMuffin
- McFlurry
- Cheeseburger
- Medium McCafé Beverage (Hot or Iced)
Redeem for 8,500 Points
- Big Mac
- McChicken
- 6 Piece McNuggets
- Double Bacon & Egg McMuffin
- Large McCafé Beverage (Hot or Iced)
- Filet-O-Fish
Redeem for 11,000 Points
- 10 Piece McNuggets
- Big Brekkie Burger
- Quarter Pounder

How the New Rewards Compare to January 2025
Several rewards have jumped by another 500 to 1,000 points compared to the January 2025 structure.
Some notable increases include:
- Medium McCafé Coffee: 4,000 → 6,000 points
- Large McCafé Coffee: 5,500 → 8,500 points
- Big Mac: 8,000 → 8,500 points
- Quarter Pounder: 8,000 → 11,000 points
- McSpicy: 10,500 → 11,000 points
- McCrispy: now 11,000 points
Some Rewards Have Been Removed
A few rewards available in earlier versions of the program no longer appear in the latest app screenshot.
These include:
- McDonaldland Cookies
- Apple Slices
- Crispy Snack Wrap
- Angus Burger rewards
