McDonald’s Unveils New McSmart Value Range & Loose Change Menu Changes Starting July 1

McDonald's Unveils New McSmart Value Range & Loose Change Menu Changes Starting July 1 5McDonald’s Australia is refreshing its value menu from July 1, 2026, with the introduction of a new McSmart range that offers more choice and meal options starting from just $6.95. The update comes as the company’s 12-month McSmart price promise, introduced in 2025, reaches its scheduled end on June 30.

While some existing value menu items are changing, McDonald’s says its focus on affordable meals remains, with three new McSmart tiers designed to cater to different budgets and appetites.

New McSmart Range Launching July 1

The new McSmart lineup will include three meal options, with prices ranging from $6.95 to $9.95.

McSmart Saver – $6.95 (MyMacca’s App Only)

The entry-level option is available exclusively through the MyMacca’s App and includes:

  • Hamburger
  • Small Fries
  • Small Soft Drink
  • 3 Chicken McNuggets

At $6.95, it becomes one of the cheapest complete meal deals available at McDonald’s.

McSmart Meal – $7.95

For an extra dollar, you can choose between a Cheeseburger or Chicken ‘n’ Cheese burger, alongside:

  • Small Fries
  • Small Soft Drink
  • Choice of:
    • 3 Chicken McNuggets
    • Hash Brown
    • Hot Apple Pie
    • Cookies

The addition of side choices gives you more flexibility than the previous McSmart offer.

McSmart Plus – $9.95

The premium option introduces a new McDouble burger, described as a Cheeseburger with an additional beef patty.

The meal includes:

  • McDouble
  • Small Fries
  • Small Soft Drink
  • Choice of:
    • Chicken ‘n’ Cheese
    • 3 Chicken McNuggets
    • Hash Brown
    • Small Sundae

This is the first time the McDouble will feature as part of a national value meal offering in Australia.

Other Value Menu Changes

Alongside the new McSmart range, McDonald’s is making several adjustments to its Loose Change Menu (LCM) and snack pricing.

From July 1:

  • Soft Serve Cone remains 50 cents
  • Frozen drinks remain available from $1
  • Hamburger increases from $2 to $2.50
  • Ham & Cheese Pocket priced at $2.50
  • Sausage McMuffin priced at $4
  • Chicken ‘n’ Cheese increases from $3.50 to $4
  • Hot Apple Pie increases from $2 to $2.50

McDonald’s is also moving McPops to store-level pricing, meaning prices may vary between locations.

Bundle Prices Also Increasing

Some larger family-focused meal bundles will also see price rises.

According to the update:

  • Macca’s Mega Meal increases by $1 for medium sizes
  • Macca’s Mega Meal increases by $1.10 for large sizes
  • Bundle for 2 increases by $3 for both in-store and delivery purchases

More Choice, But Some Price Increases

While several individual menu items are becoming more expensive, the new McSmart range introduces additional meal combinations and side options, particularly at the $7.95 and $9.95 price points.

If you’re looking for the lowest-priced option, the new $6.95 McSmart Saver will be the standout deal when it launches on July 1, especially if you regularly order through the MyMacca’s App.
