The Coffee Club Is Scrapping Points and VIP Membership as New Member Pricing Rolls Out Nationwide

The new version of The Club is already operating in South Australia and will roll out to the rest of the country between October and November 2026. Instead of earning points and waiting to redeem rewards, members will receive discounted member-only prices on selected food and drinks whenever they visit.

The Coffee Club Is Ending Its Current Points Program

Under the changes, The Coffee Club’s existing app-based points program will gradually stop operating state by state.

Once the new Club launches in your state, points will no longer exist under the new loyalty program. The Coffee Club says any remaining points need to be used before the applicable launch date, with unused balances expiring when the old program ends.

The company has also stopped accepting new registrations for its existing loyalty program while it prepares for the transition. Existing members can continue earning and redeeming points during their state’s initial transition period before points earning is switched off.

The Coffee Club Loyalty Change Dates for Each State

The rollout will happen in stages rather than nationally on the same day.

• South Australia: New Club already operating.
• Western Australia: Points can be earned until September 13. From September 14 to October 13, you can redeem existing points but won’t earn new ones. New Club launches October 14, 2026.
• NSW, Victoria, ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania: Points continue normally until October 4. From October 5 to November 4, existing points can still be redeemed. New Club launches November 5, 2026.
• Queensland: Points continue normally until October 10. Existing points can then be redeemed from October 11 to November 10. New Club launches November 11, 2026.

If you have a sizeable points balance, the important date is the day before the new program launches in your state. The Coffee Club says points left in your account after that point will expire rather than transfer into the new system.

VIP Membership Is Ending Too

The paid Coffee Club VIP program is also being retired as part of the same transition.

VIP benefits will continue during each state’s initial transition period, before billing stops and the program closes when the new Club launches. The Coffee Club says existing VIP members do not need to manually cancel their membership, with the company handling the end of recurring billing during the changeover.

That means customers currently using the VIP program should pay particular attention to the rollout dates, especially if they regularly rely on its existing coffee benefits.

The New Club Uses Instant Member Pricing Instead of Points

The replacement program works quite differently.

Rather than earning points from your purchases, you’ll receive access to special member prices on selected menu items, providing an immediate discount at the time you order. Coffee Club says eligible products can include both food and drinks, with the member-priced range changing over time.

The company describes the change as a move away from tracking and redeeming points toward “instant everyday value”.

You’ll still be able to visit The Coffee Club without joining. The new Club remains optional, with regular menu prices available to non-members.

South Australia’s New Membership Currently Costs $3 a Year

South Australia has been serving as the trial market for the new program, giving us the clearest indication yet of how it works.

The current South Australian version costs $3 per year and gives members a digital membership card that can be scanned when ordering to unlock member pricing.

Existing South Australian VIP and Club members have also been offered their first year free as part of the transition. The Coffee Club hasn’t yet confirmed in its national rollout announcement whether the same free first-year arrangement or the exact $3 annual fee will apply identically in every other state, so those details should be treated as South Australia’s current model rather than a confirmed national price.

You’ll Need to Move to the New Membership

Existing members won’t simply have their old accounts converted automatically.

The Coffee Club says it will hold a place for existing VIP and Club members, but you’ll need to complete a short onboarding process to move across to the replacement program. The company recommends checking that your phone number and other account information are current because your phone number will be important when accessing the new system.

The current South Australian version uses a new digital membership card and a separate Member Pricing system. During the trial, member pricing is accessed by ordering at the counter rather than through table QR ordering, although that process could evolve as the national rollout progresses.

What Coffee Club Members Should Do Now

If you’re currently earning Coffee Club points, there isn’t an immediate need to spend everything today.

However, you’ll want to keep your state’s cutoff date in mind. Once points earning stops, you’ll have approximately another month to redeem whatever remains before the new program launches and the old balance expires.

For Western Australian members, that change comes first, with points earning ending after September 13 and the new Club launching October 14.

NSW, Victoria, ACT, Northern Territory and Tasmania follow on November 5, before Queensland completes the rollout on November 11. South Australia is already using the new member-pricing model.

The Coffee Club Loyalty Program Is Changing From Rewards to Discounts

The biggest change is philosophical as much as technical.

Under the old system, you’d accumulate rewards over multiple purchases. The new system is designed to give you a saving immediately through member-only prices, removing the need to collect and later redeem points.

Whether that works out better for you will depend on how frequently you visit and which menu items receive member pricing.

For now, the most important thing for existing members is to use any remaining points before your state’s new Club launch date, because Coffee Club has confirmed they won’t transfer into the replacement program.
