A new McFlurry flavour appears to be undergoing a limited trial at selected McDonald’s restaurants, combining two iconic Arnott’s snacks into one dessert.

The new Tim Tam & Jatz Inspired McFlurry has started appearing on menus at select stores, including the McDonald’s restaurant at Haberfield in Sydney. While McDonald’s has not officially announced a nationwide launch, the dessert is already generating interest thanks to its unusual sweet-and-salty combination.

What’s in the Tim Tam & Jatz McFlurry?

According to the menu listing, the dessert features McDonald’s signature soft serve topped with:

Tim Tam & Jatz sauce
Tim Tam & Jatz crumb topping

McDonald’s describes the flavour profile as “Sweet & Salty”, pairing the chocolate biscuit flavour of Tim Tam with the savoury crunch associated with Jatz crackers.

The McFlurry is currently listed at $5.25 and contains approximately 1500kJ, although pricing may vary between locations.

This isn’t the first time McDonald’s Australia has partnered with Tim Tam. Previous Tim Tam McFlurry releases have proven popular with customers, combining soft serve, Tim Tam biscuit pieces and chocolate sauce.

The addition of Jatz crackers takes the concept in a different direction, introducing a sweet-and-salty flavour combination that has become increasingly popular across desserts and snack foods.

At this stage, the Tim Tam & Jatz McFlurry appears to be a limited store trial rather than a nationwide release.

Haberfield has been identified as one participating location, and there may be other selected restaurants testing the product. McDonald’s has previously trialled new desserts and menu items at individual restaurants before deciding whether to expand them nationally.
