Chicken Treat has released its famous Chicken Salt as a take-home retail product for the first time, giving customers the chance to buy the seasoning used on the chain’s chips.
The limited-edition release is part of Chicken Treat’s 50th birthday celebrations and is available now at participating restaurants while stocks last. Chicken Treat’s official website describes it as its first-ever retail pack of Chicken Treat Chicken Salt.

Chicken Treat Chicken Salt Is Now Available to Take Home
Chicken Treat began selling the limited-edition Chicken Salt packs from September 30, 2026, giving customers access to the seasoning outside the restaurant for the first time in the company’s history.
Until now, the seasoning has primarily been associated with Chicken Treat’s chips. The chain says the new retail pack contains the same iconic seasoning and suggests using it at home on foods including chips, eggs and popcorn.
There is no advertised fixed finishing date. Instead, Chicken Treat says the product is available for a “very limited time” and in very limited quantities, with sales ending once individual stores run out.
How Much Does Chicken Treat Chicken Salt Cost?
A serving of Chicken Salt costs $5.95.
The product is also in-store only, so you cannot rely on the Chicken Treat website or delivery menu to check out with a container online.
Pricing could therefore potentially vary by restaurant or region. Until Chicken Treat publishes a broader price, the amount displayed at your participating store should be treated as the applicable price.
This is a retail container of seasoning rather than an offer for free additional chicken salt with a meal.
Some Chicken Treat Locations Are Excluded
Chicken Treat specifically lists three locations where the retail Chicken Salt promotion is not available: Perth Airport, Motorplex and Perth Royal Show.
Otherwise, the product is being promoted through Chicken Treat’s restaurant network, with PerthNow reporting that limited quantities were being released across Western Australia. Chicken Treat currently operates 62 venues across WA, according to the September 29 report. PerthNow
Because stock is limited rather than allocated through a stated nationwide quantity, availability may differ significantly between restaurants.
Chicken Treat Is Celebrating Its 50th Birthday
The unusual product release ties into a major milestone for the WA-born fast-food chain.
Chicken Treat opened its first restaurant in Midland in 1976 and is celebrating 50 years in business during 2026. The company says demand from customers wanting to buy its Chicken Salt separately helped prompt the anniversary release.
Over those five decades, Chicken Treat says it has served more than 234 million portions of chips, 116 million pieces of rotisserie chicken and 53 million chicken rolls.
For now, the immediately available promotion is the one customers have been asking for: Chicken Treat Chicken Salt is available to buy in take-home containers for the first time, in-store only and strictly while stocks last.
