McDonald’s Monopoly Australia Confirms With Frugal Feeds That It Won’t Return in 2026

The Monopoly promotion would normally launch around September and run into October, but there will be no Australian edition of the game this year.

No McDonald’s Monopoly in Australia for 2026
Frugal Feeds contacted McDonald’s regarding the status of Monopoly for 2026, with the company confirming that the promotion will not be running this year.
That means there will be no new Monopoly game tickets, property sets, instant-win prizes or Collect to Win promotion in Australia this September.
The decision represents a significant change to McDonald’s annual promotional calendar, with Monopoly having run every year since 2015.
Monopoly Normally Takes Over September and October
For Aussie McDonald’s customers, September has become closely associated with the annual Monopoly promotion.
Last year’s edition began on September 3, 2025 and ran until October 14, with digital game plays awarded on eligible purchases through the MyMacca’s App.
The 2025 promotion was particularly large, featuring a total advertised prize pool of more than $718 million. More than 32 million food prizes were available alongside non-food prizes including cars, gift cards, technology, travel and lifestyle prizes.
McDonald’s Monopoly Had Run Every Year Since 2015
The absence of a 2026 promotion breaks an 11-year run of annual Australian Monopoly campaigns from 2015 through 2025.
Over that period, the promotion evolved considerably. The familiar Monopoly property-collecting concept remained, but the way customers participated increasingly moved online.
By 2025, the game was fully digital through the MyMacca’s App, with plays linked directly to customers’ accounts rather than relying on the traditional physical game-ticket format.
The 2025 game also replaced the traditional Monopoly locations with Australian destination-themed property sets, while continuing to offer instant wins, Collect to Win prizes and second-chance entries.
Golden Deals Take Over September 2026
While Monopoly isn’t returning, McDonald’s hasn’t left September without a major national promotion.
Instead, September 2026 is being headlined by Golden Deals, with a different MyMacca’s App offer available every day of the month.
The opening week includes deals such as a $3 Big Mac, $8.95 Small McChicken Meal with 6 McNuggets, $2.50 Large Fries and $14.95 20 McNuggets with 2 Medium Fries.
The promotion is also tied to the new McGold Card competition, giving customers the chance to win Macca’s for life.
Could McDonald’s Monopoly Return in 2027?
McDonald’s confirming that Monopoly isn’t running in 2026 doesn’t necessarily mean the Australian promotion has been permanently discontinued.
At this stage, the confirmation relates to this year’s game, and there has been no confirmation about whether Monopoly will return in 2027.
For now, however, Australians waiting for the usual September launch can stop looking for this year’s Monopoly tickets: there will be no McDonald’s Monopoly Australia promotion in 2026.
