The Chipster has developed a loyal following over the years thanks to its unusual combination of crispy chicken and KFC chips inside the same burger. Its latest comeback gives fans another chance to grab the cult menu item for a limited time.

What’s in the Original Crispy Chipster?

The Original Crispy Chipster combines several familiar KFC ingredients in one burger.

It comes with:

Original Crispy fillet
Cheese
Lettuce
Pepper Mayo
KFC Chips
Sesame Seed Bun

The defining feature is the layer of hot chips inside the burger, adding another texture to the Original Crispy chicken, cheese and lettuce.

Pepper Mayo finishes it off with the creamy, slightly peppery flavour familiar from other KFC menu items.

KFC Original Crispy Chipster Costs $9.95

The returning Original Crispy Chipster is priced at $9.95 on its own.

Customers wanting a complete meal can instead grab the Original Crispy Chipster Combo for $13.45, which comes with:

Original Crispy Chipster
Regular Chips
Regular Drink

It’s Only Available on KFC’s Secret Menu

There is one important catch if you want to try the returning Chipster: you’ll need the KFC App.

The Original Crispy Chipster is part of KFC’s Secret Menu, rather than its standard nationwide menu. That means you generally won’t find it advertised alongside KFC’s regular burgers on restaurant menu boards.

Customers can access the Secret Menu through the KFC App and place an eligible order from a participating restaurant.

Original Crispy Chipster Returns from September 29

The Original Crispy Chipster returns from Tuesday, September 29, 2026, giving KFC fans another Secret Menu option heading into October.

At $9.95 for the burger or $13.45 for a regular combo, the returning Chipster brings together an Original Crispy fillet, cheese, lettuce, Pepper Mayo and — most importantly — KFC’s chips stuffed directly inside the burger.

It’s available for a limited time through the KFC App Secret Menu at participating restaurants.

How to Access the KFC App Secret Menu

To access the secret menu, download the KFC App (see the links below), select a store and click order.

Then click on the menu and drag the screen down for 11 seconds appears. Afterwards, the “Secret Menu” button will appear.
