The Monopoly game is back at McDonald’s Australia for 2025, running from Wednesday 3rd September to Tuesday 14th October.

This year, the campaign is entirely digital, allowing players to unlock instant wins and track their progress through the Macca’s app.

From free menu favourites to luxury prizes, the game continues to be one of the biggest fast-food promotions of the year.

Prizes Up For Grabs

For many, the most exciting part of Monopoly at Macca’s is the free food instantly available through game pieces. The promotion once again includes popular favourites such as fries, cheeseburgers, sundaes, and soft drinks.

While free food remains the backbone of the promotion, the 2025 Monopoly campaign also features an impressive lineup of high-value prizes. There’s a variety of rewards including a brand-new SUV, which stands as one of the headline grand prizes.

Beyond these, the prize pool extends to retail and entertainment vouchers from brands like JB Hi-Fi, The Iconic, and Uber Eats. Travel enthusiasts can aim for flight vouchers and hotel stays, while lifestyle-focused prizes range from fitness gear to leisure products like Bestway pools.

How to Play Monopoly at Macca’s

Each eligible item at McDonald’s comes with Monopoly game pieces, which can be scanned directly through the Macca’s app.

This year’s game is all digital from start to finish. After purchasing eligible menu items, scan your game pieces in the MyMacca’s app to reveal instant wins or add properties to your collection.

The app automatically keeps track of everything – instant food wins, property sets, and any entries for bigger prizes.

Digital play means you won’t need to keep physical tickets or codes.

IMO this year’s game is no longer worth playing for two reasons and the main reason why they moved to digital only results.

One reason is that the game is now totally control by an algo which determines results.

The second is no physical interaction. More akin to online poker. If you win by physical tickets no data is generated by the winner for small prizes.

And the big reason is that you have to have the app so nobody can go around picking up discarded tickets which if theu were winner they’d have to pay out.
