KFC Launches the Upside Down Double Nationwide from 2 December

KFC is bringing a Stranger Things twist to its summer menu, officially launching the Upside Down Double across Australia from 2 December 2025 to 5 January 2026. After making its debut at the Hawkins Fried Chicken pop-up in Sydney, the burger is now rolling out nationwide so everyone can try the limited-edition creation.

The Upside Down Double takes the classic KFC Double and turns it inside out, leaning into the Stranger Things theme with a build that feels like it came straight from the Upside Down. It’s a one-off menu item designed to blend nostalgia, novelty and pure fried-chicken indulgence.

What’s Inside the Upside Down Double

KFC has flipped the usual Double formula, giving this version a structure that’s the exact opposite of the original. Instead of placing all ingredients between two buns, the Upside Down Double uses two Original Crispy fillets as the “bread.” Inside that crunchy exterior sits a soft bun, layered with bacon, cheese, and the new Stranger Sauce (tomato relish), which was first previewed at the Sydney pop-up.

The result is a burger that is messy, fun and very on-brand for a tie-in inspired by a world where nothing works the way it should.

Pricing & Menu Options

The Stranger Things Upside Down Double costs around $10.95 for the burger by itself, and $14.95 in a combo with a regular chips and drink.

It’s also available in the Stranger Things Upside Down Double Box for around $16.95, which adds a regular potato & gravy and snack popcorn chicken to the combo.
