NEWS: McDonald’s – Southern Style Fried Chicken (SA Only)
Starting Wednesday 5 May 2021, McDonald’s are introducing new Southern Style Fried Chicken in South Australia only!
They’re whole pieces of chicken in a southern style crispy coating.
It’s available in the following options with prices (which may vary by store):
- 1 piece for $3.25
- 5 pieces for $14.20
- 10 pieces for $27.45
- 3 Piece Meal with Medium Fries and Medium Drink for $13.75
- Chicken Share Box with 3 pieces, 6 McNuggets and 3 Chicken McPieces, Large Fries and Sauce for $17.95
- Chicken Dinner Box with 10 pieces, 4 Small Fries or Salads and 4 Small Drinks for $39.95

This isn’t new 🙂 McDonald’s Australia (only, as far as I can tell) served “Southern Fried Chicken” in 1980 and onwards, in a cardboard box with plaid sides. It was my first exposure to fried chicken as a child.
